The needs of disabled people are largely ignored in Nigeria, with negative effects. Stigma and social exclusion lead to poor social skills and low self-esteem; while low participation ratios in education and employment present significant loss of contribution to national growth and GDP.
We believe all individuals should have the opportunity and support to live independently and participate fully in society regardless of physical impairment.
P.A.N is focused on disability advocacy with a view to promoting capacity development in knowledge, skills and experience.
We work very closely with a leading disability advocate based in Nigeria in framing our discussions and developing best practices for physical, social and economic accessibility.
